Evo 11 Conference

I was out of town this week attending the Evo Conference in Park City, Utah, and it was a wonderful experience. This was my first time at Evo, and the resort setting made it feel like a mini vacation. My accommodations felt more like a small apartment than a hotel room, complete with a private bed and quiet space—exactly what I needed.

One of the best parts of conferences like this is reconnecting with blogging friends and meeting new people in person. Each event expands my circle of friends and collaborators. Going to social media and blogging conferences has been invaluable for getting to know the real people behind the blogs—women who are genuine, funny, smart, and a lot of fun to be around. Some of these friends I’ve known for years, and others I finally met in person for the first time.

I also had the pleasure of meeting newer bloggers, including Mandi from Vintage Revivals, who is as talented and delightful in person as she is online. It was inspiring to learn from so many creative, skilled people over the weekend. I hope to share more photos of the lovely people I spent time with.

There were plenty of memorable moments and a few funny stories from the conference—I’ll share more of those later. You might spot some candid photos on my Facebook and Twitter feeds; conferences can get a little wild sometimes!

I’m heading home late today, feeling refreshed and inspired.

Also, please remember to vote daily for my Shabby Chic Dining Room design board (or any board you like) to enter the Apartment Guide Your Picks. Your Place. Sweepstakes for a chance to win $10,000. Apartment Guide is my sponsor at Evo, and it was great meeting their team in person.
