While the contractors were finishing a few final touches around our kitchen, we decided to put together a second small Christmas tree. Earlier, when working on our Woodland Christmas tree, we picked up some silhouette rubber stamps, gift tags, and washi tape at a craft store. They made a perfect rainy-day DIY project.

I don’t usually write short tutorials, but this one is simple and fun. Don’t be intimidated by the steps — it’s easy and quick to assemble.
5 STEP GIFT TAG ORNAMENTS:
- Stamp each tag with your silhouette rubber stamps.
- Apply washi tape randomly on the tags for visual interest and texture.
- For a few tags, glue patterned paper onto the tag for variety.
- Punch a hole near the top of each tag.
- Add string and hang the tags from the branches as ornaments.

And just like that, you have charming gift tag ornaments ready for the tree. They bring a handmade, coordinated look without much effort.
I considered naming the tree something clever, but “Black & White Tree” was the most fitting. I found the white tree at Kohl’s a few weeks ago and the monochrome palette felt perfect for these simple, graphic tags.
With this tree we now have two set up, which is a relief given the recent renovation mess. The contractors finished most of their work and the last one left until after the holidays, so the house will be quiet and mine for the next few weeks. There’s a little more painting to do, but that can wait until after Christmas — for now I’m enjoying the holiday setup.

A reminder: the linky party will go live Friday night at 10PM ET / 7PM PT, so get a head start and link up then.
