Flower Foraging Guide and New Organic Gardening Book Release

Foraging for blooms and greenery in my yard is one of my favorite seasonal rituals. It’s free, calming, and an easy way to bring fresh beauty into the home without creating clutter.

I recently treated myself to a new gardening book for Mother’s Day and have been dreaming about creating a cutting garden in our backyard — rows of flowers to cut and arrange all season long.

Last week Court and I spent a morning gathering stems for a simple bouquet. Even without a dedicated cutting garden we found lovely blooms on trees, shrubs, and peeking up around the yard. We haven’t reached peony, rose, or hydrangea season yet, but the yard provided plenty of fragrant, colorful flowers that filled several vases.

I wanted to share a few snapshots from our foraging and arranging morning. We’re not professional florists or gardeners, but that’s part of the joy — it’s relaxed, creative, and surprisingly therapeutic. I hope these May flowers brighten your day as they did ours.
