How are you doing, friends? We’re managing as best we can and finding ways to make this unusual season feel a little steadier. I’ve worked from home for years, so being here all day isn’t new to me, but these circumstances are different. It takes time to settle into a new rhythm, and that’s okay.
Right now, I find it helps to focus on simple, comforting tasks. Making lists of small projects we’ve always wanted to try, keeping routines gentle and consistent, and making our home feel healthy and cozy are all things that lift our spirits. Small changes really do make a difference for the whole family.
Here are a few things we’ve been doing at home:
- Planning the garden. Being outside with plants feels incredibly therapeutic and grounding.
- Organizing spaces we’ve been meaning to tackle. With more of us home lately, we’re adjusting what works for our family routine.
- Doing puzzles for date nights with my husband. It’s a fun, low-key way to spend time together and unplug.
- Taking family walks with the dogs in nearby, quiet neighborhoods.
- Sipping tea and slowly becoming more of a tea person. I’ve been enjoying chamomile blends and matcha with oat milk.
- Curling up by the fire with a soft blanket. Little comforts like a cozy throw make evenings feel special.
- Browsing decor books for inspiration and dreaming up projects. Coffee table books are a great way to gather ideas and imagine small updates.
- Reading books I’ve been meaning to dive into. It’s a pleasant way to slow down and nourish the mind.
- Cooking creative comfort meals at home. We set up a baked potato bar for a fun family dinner and have been thinking more about meal planning now that dining out isn’t an option.
- Ordering groceries and household supplies online for convenience and safety. Some items go in and out of stock, but online shopping has become essential for us.
- Running diffusers with favorite essential oil blends throughout the house to keep the atmosphere calm and soothing.
- Listening to music—having playlists that fit the mood has been uplifting during the day and comforting in the evenings.

Here is the uplifting music I’ve been listening to around the house:
A song that’s felt especially fitting right now is “Rest In You” by All Sons and Daughters—calming and reflective.
I’ve also been listening to an ‘Uplift’ playlist of Christian worship songs that brings a peaceful atmosphere to the home.
For lighter, cozy moments I play a ‘Happy Homebody’ playlist that pairs well with quiet afternoons and evenings by the fire.
