Remember when I mentioned the idea of placing a game or dining table in the living room? We finally moved our dining table into this space to get a feel for how it might work.
I haven’t had a chance to bring in chairs or photograph the room from different angles to show the table in full context. To make the overall composition work, I’d probably need to relocate the plant, adjust the rug, and rethink the art placement. Still, trying the table here sparked a lot of thoughts.
What kind of table would be ideal in this spot if I could pick one just for this room?

If I keep the table I have, what chairs would suit it and the living room? If I move the current table back to the dining room, what style would replace it? How would two tables and two sets of chairs work together in adjacent areas—would they complement each other or feel awkward?
Would the closeness of two tables feel strange, or would the arrangement depend entirely on the styles and proportions of the pieces? Is it a problem if it looks a bit unconventional?
There’s also the possibility that this corner could become something else entirely in the future—a walk-in closet or a cozy library nook—so that influences whether I commit to moving the table here or return it to its original place.
Decisions, decisions. I can be indecisive for a long time, and then suddenly make up my mind. 🙂
