Creative Christmas Decorating Ideas with Mini Trees

One of my favorite ways to decorate for winter and the holidays is with mini trees. I love scattering them throughout the house to create seasonal interest in every room. Over the years I’ve collected and styled many small trees — bottlebrush trees, tabletop pre-lit trees, paper trees, mercury glass trees and more — and I thought it would be fun to share a collection of photos showing how they look in different spaces.

Mini trees are an easy, affordable way to add charm and texture without the fuss of a full-size tree. They work equally well on mantels, bedside tables, kitchen counters, in bathrooms, on entryway consoles and even grouped on ottomans or shelves. Because they come in so many sizes, shapes and materials, you can mix metallics, soft flocking, natural twigs and lit options for a layered, collected look.

When styling mini trees, consider these simple tips:
– Vary heights and textures to create interest. A group of three or five small trees often reads better than a single piece.
– Use modest bases like small urns, cake stands or stacked books to give trees presence without overwhelming the surface.
– Add a few coordinating accents — small ornaments, mercury glass, candles (battery-operated for safety) or a string of fairy lights — to unify the look.
– Place lit mini trees in darker corners or on shelves to add warm, inviting ambiance to the room.
