Cordless lamps are one of my favorite home inventions. They provide a soft, warm glow wherever you need light without relying on a nearby outlet or leaving a cord dangling. Their versatility makes them useful in almost every room.

I use cordless lamps throughout our house: on the fireplace mantel, on the rattan cart in the kitchen, in the gift-wrap closet, on a bathroom counter, in the guest room, and even inside my coffee cabinet. Once you start adding them into your home, you’ll quickly find many places where they come in handy.

I currently have two different cordless lamp styles at home, and both have been excellent, practical finds—easy to charge, sturdy, and great value. Below I share details and photos of how I use them.

1. Bronze / gold cordless lamps

These lamps are offered as a single piece or a set of two and come in multiple shade colors and finish options. Their simple, classic design makes them easy to move wherever you want a little extra light. They work well in living areas, on side tables, or tucked onto a console.

2. Rattan shade on white lamps

These lamps include interchangeable shades—I use a set that comes with one white shade and one rattan shade. There are several finishes and shade styles available, including striped options. Because they’re waterproof, I also use them on our porch where they hold up well in outdoor settings.

I recently added one of these lamps inside my coffee cabinet, which makes chilly winter mornings feel cozy and welcoming. A small light in a cabinet or pantry can change the mood of a space and make daily routines more pleasant.

These cordless lamps allow you to choose between cooler or warmer light tones by tapping the top to turn the lamp on and cycle color temperatures. Above is an example of the cooler-toned light.

If you’re looking for more ways to add light without rewiring, consider wall sconces and smaller lamps that don’t require permanent installation. They’re an easy way to brighten dark corners and add atmosphere throughout your home.

For a cohesive, cozy lighting scheme, combine cordless lamps with floor lamps and other accent lighting to create layers. Small, portable lamps can move with you from room to room and instantly change the feel of a space.

Explore different finishes, shade materials, and light temperatures to find cordless lamps that suit your decor and needs. Whether used indoors or outdoors, they’re a practical, stylish solution for adding warm, flexible lighting wherever you need it.
