Live Dangerously: Surround Yourself with Beauty

I first shared this lovely kitchen before. It belongs to my friend Heather Bullard, and I’m showing it again because it’s almost identical to my own layout — though mine hasn’t yet become as charming. My kitchen isn’t white or styled like hers… not yet.

The similarity lies in the layout, and, unfortunately, that’s about it.

My kitchen still has a basic builder look, while Heather’s reflects her personality and thoughtful design. Still, I’m optimistic. The stove and microwave sit in the same spots, and I plan to add glass-front cabinets and arrange dishes much like she did.

Yes, even right beside the stove. Tsk tsk. I live on the edge, don’t I?

I don’t mind a bit of cooking mess if it means I can enjoy the sight of pretty dishes every day. Little risks like that bring me joy.

Isn’t that part of living a beautiful life? Surrounding yourself with things you love, even when everyday life might introduce a little wear. Beauty is worth living with — imperfect, lived-in, and real.

What are you waiting for? Live a little. I dare you.

It’s another Beautiful Life Friday!

If you’ve followed my blog over the years, you know I often write about turning pages in life — some chapters exciting, others exhausting. We lost a job and endured a long season without income. My husband eventually found work, we moved to a new state, and a house sale fell through. We planted a new church in a place where we barely knew anyone. Recently we finally sold our other house, and I feel like that long chapter has closed.

This week we closed on the house we’re living in — happy dance!

It now belongs to us (well, to us and the bank, but still!). That chapter feels finished, and now the real adventure begins.

I’m grateful you’ve been part of this journey. Your encouragement has been the best kind of therapy.

Where did you find beauty this week?

It’s Beautiful Life Friday — a moment to pause and notice the beauty around us. Often the most meaningful beauty is right in front of us if we take the time to look.
