Happy New Year! As we begin 2025, I wanted to look back at The Inspired Room readers’ favorite decor pieces from 2024. It’s always fun to see which items resonated most and which pieces found a place in your homes.
I’ve been creating The Inspired Room for 18 years, and I love helping readers decorate with affordable, timeless, and stylish pieces. Most of what I share is in my own home, and I also pick items I’d happily add to my rooms if the space allowed. Hearing from readers who bought and love something I recommended is one of the best parts of blogging.

Here are your favorites from 2024 (and many are favorites of mine, too):
Rattan Serving Cart – We use this in our kitchen; it’s versatile and adds a warm, natural texture. I wrote about how I use it in the kitchen and dining area.
Jute and Cotton Rug – This rug feels soft like a knit sweater thanks to its cotton blend. It has held up well with pets, doesn’t shed, and comes in several colors. We use a rug pad with it to add extra softness and keep it in place.
Brass Wall Sconces with Linen Shade (set of 2) – I’ve used these in both black and brass finishes. They’re convenient because they can be used without hardwiring by pairing them with rechargeable bulbs; I later hardwired mine and swapped the shades for a new look.
Plaid Throw Blanket – Plaid throws remain a cozy staple I recommend often.
Window Candles – These battery-operated window candles bring a warm glow to winter evenings. We love their features and quality; they make a lovely gift as well.
Buffalo Check Curtains in Chambray – A timeless pattern that adds casual charm to a room.
Hanging Lit Stars – We hang these on the porch every year. They add a nostalgic, welcoming touch to our entry and are a beloved seasonal tradition.
Little Lamp with Scalloped Shade – This lamp’s woven shade and scalloped detail make it an ideal accent for cozy corners. It comes in multiple colors and two sizes; I’ve purchased it several times for different rooms.
Buffalo Check Curtains (Portabello) – These cafe-style curtains were popular with readers in 2024. I’ve shared photos and the hardware I use across my home.
Leather Armchair – The loveseat version of this chair has been in our home for years and improves with age. It’s durable and becomes more comfortable over time.
Bamboo Window Shades – We installed light russet bamboo shades last year. They add texture and warmth; readers have reported ordering them too. They can show as out of stock sometimes, but checking other sizes often reveals availability.

Jute Wrapped Chandelier with Shades – This chandelier hangs in our dining room and works well with or without shades; there are many shade options to customize the look.
Blue and White Chinoiserie Lamp – A classic piece I purchased last year. The bird motifs are a small detail I adore, and readers loved this lamp as well.
Blue Rocking Chairs – We added these to our back porch; they bring a cheerful pop of color and comfortable seating.
Remote Control Outlets – I use these for lamps throughout our house and for holiday lighting. They’re handy for managing multiple lights without running to switches.
Electric Standing Desk – My daughter uses this adjustable desk. It’s a great solution for working from home in a small space.
Reversible Throw Blanket – These lightweight, machine-washable blankets are perennially popular. They’re soft, reversible, and come in many patterns and colors. I use them on sofas, chairs, and bench seats.
Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner – A reliable tool I use for rugs and upholstered furniture; it helps keep fabrics fresh and looking their best.
Rechargeable Portable Cordless Lamps (set of 2) – These cordless lamps are great for adding soft light where you need it, and they’re very versatile for seasonal use and small spaces.
Blue and White Mug Set – This three-piece mug set was highly sought after in 2024. They’re well-proportioned and a lovely everyday option.
Botanical Rug – My new bedroom rug features botanicals and herons. Its colors and pattern bring daily joy and a charming, peaceful vibe to the space.
