Before and After: Showcase Your Paint Color Transformations

In the past year or two we’ve refreshed many rooms in our home. We’ve painted the living room, dining room, a bathroom, the hallway, and this spring I painted my home office. It really has been the year of painting and home projects, and finally the house is starting to come together.

The right paint colors make a dramatic difference in how a space looks and feels. Before-and-after photos are always fun to see, and they show how much impact a fresh coat of paint and a few updates can have.

This summer we’ve worked on a number of areas: the kitchen, bedroom, a guest room, my kitchen corner, family room, powder room, pantry, entry, and another family room, among other small projects. The collage above shows just a few of the spaces during the busy months. Yes, it was chaotic for a while, but that temporary mess was part of making progress.

Many of the rooms that looked torn apart in the before photos are now much closer to finished and prettier than those in-process shots suggested. Perseverance has paid off, and I’ll be sharing more before-and-after reveals very soon.

I can’t wait to show you the finished rooms because I know how satisfying these transformations are. Seeing completed spaces after the work is done is one of my favorite parts of decorating.

One of the sites I write for, My Colortopia, recently launched a “Show Your Colors” gallery that features reader-submitted before-and-after photos. It’s a great place to showcase the work you’ve done and to inspire others who are planning their own paint projects. Visitors can view transformations and get paint color ideas from the gallery photos.

I’m planning to upload my own projects to the Show Your Colors gallery soon, and I hope you’ll consider sharing yours as well. It’s fun to celebrate progress and to exchange ideas with other people who enjoy decorating and renovating their homes.

I have been sponsored by Glidden® brand paint to write this post, and the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
