Who doesn’t love the idea of using dishes as decor? I recently bought the cutest set of dishes at Walmart (not sponsored) and they’re incredibly affordable. Since we’ve been talking about hanging plates and decorating with platters, I wanted to share these finds and a few styling ideas.
I was actually more excited about these dishes for styling shelves than for everyday serving. They’re bamboo melamine and, while I try to avoid plastic for daily meals, they’re labeled BPA-free and seem ideal for outdoor summer entertaining or as extra plates when guests visit. Because they’re attractive and practical, I purchased several pieces with summer gatherings in mind.
Walmart and Better Homes & Gardens did a great job designing this collection.
Items I ordered from the collection:
Chip and Dip Tray
12 Piece Dinnerware Set
Serving Tray (3)
Serving Bowl

I wish I had noticed a few other pieces sooner, like the basket caddy—I missed it when ordering. Use the collection link so you don’t overlook extras like that.

I ordered three of the platters because they’re perfect for displaying on shelves or on a plate stand on the counter. They arrived quickly and I’ll be playing with styling ideas—expect to see them featured again.
I wanted to share them right away in case stock is limited.

Quick decorating ideas and tips:
– Arrange the platters across a kitchen shelf or prop them on the wall for instant visual interest. A set of plates hung together creates a collected, curated look.
Bonus: these melamine pieces are less likely to break if they fall, making them a practical choice for high shelves or outdoor use.
– Stack bowls on open shelving for casual, lived-in styling.
– Keep styling simple and affordable. Use what you love and what you actually use—dishes can be both practical and beautiful.
– If these exact items aren’t available or don’t suit your taste, look for plates, bowls, and platters at secondhand stores; you can find great, budget-friendly pieces to display.

If you like this collection, consider grabbing pieces while they’re available. You can buy individual items or sets, and they come in at least two colors—I chose the blue.
I also shared a short video of these dishes on my LTK account for a closer look.

I suggest downloading the LTK app.
I add favorite finds there daily. The app makes it easy to see new items and shop directly when something I share goes on sale or is restocked. It’s a handy way to avoid missing limited-stock pieces.
With the app you’ll be notified when I post new items, and I often include videos so you can see how things look in my home.
