Enchanting cottage gates with cutout design details
While gathering ideas for our small backyard, I came across a photo I took years ago on a walk in Seattle. That little gate with the rose cutout captured my imagination then, and it still does. There’s something irresistibly charming about cottage-style gates — they hint at a hidden, special space beyond the fence, like a secret garden waiting to be discovered.

We’re adding a gate to the side of my parents’ new cottage entrance, and I’m eager to design something sweet and inviting. In our previous home I had a gate with a small window cutout and loved how it created a moment of connection between public and private spaces.
