Change Is Coming: Embracing Life’s Small Shifts

gallery wall set up

My daughters and I are starting a new gallery wall in the family room, and I’m genuinely excited about how it will look.

We began by arranging all the frames on the floor to test different layouts before adding the artwork. The collection comes from a recent trip to Europe, so the wall will be not only a striking focal point but also a display of family memories that have been tucked away in a dresser for years. It feels great to bring those pieces out and give them a place of honor.

If you remember the stairway gallery wall I created a while back, I still love seeing it every time I go up and down the stairs. It remains one of my favorite spots in the house and shows how framed art can transform a space.

I especially enjoy this part of decorating — focusing on the smaller details that help a room feel complete. After a year of major updates around the house, the heavy lifting is done and now I can concentrate on these finishing touches. That shift has made my home feel calmer and more enjoyable to live in.

While working on the gallery wall, you might notice we’ve also switched the slipcovers on our Pottery Barn sofa. A simple change like that can refresh a room and introduce a new vibe without a full redesign. It’s fun to watch a space evolve with a few thoughtful updates.

summer tour of homes bloggers

You’ll be able to see more photos of these recent updates during the Summer Tour of Homes. Many bloggers are participating, so it promises to be a fun event and a great source of inspiration. Keep an eye out for the tour and mark your calendar.

In the meantime, you can view my current house tour photos or browse the “How to Decorate” series for ideas to apply in your own home. I’ll also post an update soon about my entry makeover, so check back for that.

Ch ch ch changes are happening here, little by little.
