The kitchen hosts so many of our daily routines that it often needs extra attention. I like to use each new season as an opportunity for a gentle reset, and the kitchen is one of my favorite rooms to refresh.
Now that spring is nearly here and the sunshine has inspired me, I wanted to share a few recent updates we made.

A few recent kitchen resets in our kitchen for spring
We follow a handful of seasonal rituals; here are five spring kitchen resets we completed over the last couple of weeks:
- Clear the counters and give all surfaces a thorough cleaning.
- Rearrange or swap decor so the space feels refreshed.
- Bring in fresh plants for the season and remove any that didn’t make it.
- Change our café curtains for a simple seasonal update.
- Touch up paint—right now we’re repainting our dining table and sometimes we do small woodwork touch-ups as well.

Small seasonal updates and daily routines are what I call home rhythms—simple, repeatable practices that keep a home feeling fresh and welcoming.
Finding a sustainable, enjoyable rhythm for each season is the key to staying on top of household tasks and feeling calmer in everyday life.
The first two routines I adopted were making the bed and washing the dishes each night—so simple, yet so effective.

It took me about ten years of feeling overwhelmed before I realized how much easier life could be with a few sustainable rhythms. That discovery felt truly life-changing.
Rhythms do more than keep a home tidy; they support well-being. They reduce stress and anxiety, help you feel less frantic and more in control, and provide a steady routine you can return to if you get off track.

Over the years I’ve refined efficient, sustainable ways to care for and decorate a home, and I love sharing what I’ve learned with other HomeBodies.
We recently refreshed and reorganized our home rhythm and decorating systems in The HomeBody House and on our site, so we’re ready for a new season of simple routines and small, meaningful updates.
The HomeBody House is a quiet place to retreat, offering guidance to create a peaceful pace and sanctuary for the season you’re in. You can begin building that sanctuary today.
To welcome new members, I added a short video with three simple steps to get started in The HomeBody House.

On the topic of seasonal resets, I recently added a new kitchen runner. Runners are easy to store, so you can keep a few and rotate them by season.
We chose a washable Ruggable runner for the kitchen; it’s practical and pretty. It adds warmth and a hint of floral for spring, and it helps prevent our pup from slipping during his zoomies while catching drips from the sink and stove to protect the floor.
A runner is a small change that makes a big difference in comfort and function, especially in a busy kitchen.
