Psssst… I did it.
I made a rustic birch branch monogram.
Remember when I said I wanted to try making a monogram? I finally gave it a go, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out.
I cut the monogram myself from wood using a power tool I’d never used before.
And no fingers lost in the process—so I can keep blogging! High fives.
It isn’t perfect, but for my first attempt I’m really happy with the result.

My favorite part is that I covered the monogram with real bark collected from fallen branches during a fall walk.
I love the natural texture of the bark and moss—so rustic and full of character.

This project has a woodland charm that’s both simple and striking—a fun DIY for anyone who likes natural materials.

There’s a video and step-by-step instructions available on the original project post if you want a walkthrough and to see the process in motion.

If you’re interested in making your own, consider signing up for a Home Depot Do-It-Herself Workshop to create a monogram wreath—these workshops are a great way to learn and get hands-on help.
I’m co-leading a workshop this Thursday in Tacoma, Washington. If you’re local, I’d love to meet you there.

So, did I actually do it? Yes — and I’m happily surprised at how well it turned out.
