Some of my favorite family memories happen around the 4th of July — beach days, parades, backyard barbecues, fireworks, and the simple joy of gathering together year after year.
I enjoy adding touches of red, white, and blue to our coastal home at this time of year. My everyday palette is mostly blue and white, but a little red brings that classic American summer feeling into the rooms we live in and love.
I want our family to remember slow summer mornings on the porch with coffee, kids running in and out barefoot, s’mores beside the firepit at dusk, and cozy movie nights tucked into the Snug.
Those small moments are what make a home feel nostalgic to me, and I love creating spaces that are ready for all of them.
Wayfair is one of my favorite go-to spots for furniture, lighting, rugs, decorative accents, and seasonal details. I especially appreciate their fast shipping and the way they make stylish pieces accessible at a variety of price points.
Here are a few red, white, and blue touches around our house this year — a mix of seasonal items we bring out each summer and timeless accents that stay out year-round:

Small accents — a striped rug, a vintage-style star pillow, a blue vase, or a rattan lamp — are all it takes to give a room that relaxed, patriotic summer vibe. Mixing seasonal pieces with everyday staples keeps the look fresh without feeling overdone. Whether you lean toward subtle touches or a more festive display, these elements help make your home feel welcoming and ready for summer gatherings.
