Hello friends — Happy Valentine’s Day! I wanted to stop by with a heartfelt apology and a little giveaway to say thank you for sticking with me.

One of the greatest joys of blogging has always been the friendships and conversations that grow from sharing bits of everyday life. Over the years you’ve shared your stories, ideas, and photos with me, and that exchange has meant so much. It reminds me of this quote:

“Friendship … is born at the moment when one says to another ‘What! You too?’”

Lately the blog has been quieter than usual, and I want to apologize for that. For a few years now many readers told me they couldn’t leave comments here. That was frustrating to hear, and it meant the conversations we used to have in the comments weren’t happening.

This week my site developer tracked down the problem and fixed it, so commenting should be restored. I’m so grateful to those of you who took the time to email me when you couldn’t comment — your messages, questions, and encouragement have meant a lot.

Even though some of you reached out by email instead, I’d really like this space to feel like the welcoming community it once was. This year marks 18 years of blogging for me, and I fondly remember when the comment section buzzed with conversation. I miss that sense of connection and hearing from long-time readers and new friends alike.

Comments let readers connect with one another, share experiences, ask questions, and celebrate small moments. With the comments functioning again, I hope we can rebuild that friendly corner of the internet here.
