You know—the love affair I have with this time of year.
Oh, that affair—of course!
It’s pretty obvious. I don’t try very hard to hide it.
This is the fourth consecutive year I’ve devoted a multi-day series to autumn. I celebrate it because it’s one of the richest, coziest times to focus on home life.
Why am I so enchanted by fall?
Why not a series on decorating with blue or 31 days of blogging tips? Those are great topics, but for me those weeks in autumn are the best of the year. Every fall brings something slightly different, and that makes the season consistently fresh and inspiring.

Autumn helps me put my heart and priorities in the right place.
That perspective matters because The Inspired Room has never been about chasing the newest trends or creating a perfectly styled house. It’s about cultivating an authentic, warm, and meaningful home—one that reflects values and comforts that come from the inside out, not just from surface design.
My Autumn Manifesto
Autumn isn’t defined by outside temperature or the exact hue of the leaves. It isn’t merely a lead-in to winter, nor is it only about pumpkins and seasonal motifs.
Autumn invites contentment at home by helping us notice and appreciate what we already have.
Simple daily rituals—homemaking, baking, nesting, decorating, and preparing for the holidays ahead—bring a calm, centered joy to everyday life.
That’s the core of why I love this season.
Autumn teaches me to appreciate the life and home I already have.
It’s a gift I don’t want to overlook.
