Who doesn’t love the idea of dishes as decor? I recently picked up an adorable, affordable set of dishes at Walmart (not sponsored) that I bought both for styling and for casual summer use. With so many great ways to display plates and platters, I wanted to share what I ordered and a few simple styling ideas.
The pieces I chose are bamboo melamine. While I try to minimize plastic in everyday serving, these are BPA-free and work perfectly for outdoor entertaining or as extras when hosting a crowd. I was mostly excited about them as display pieces for shelves and counters, but they’re practical for serving too.
Walmart and Better Homes & Gardens did a lovely job with the design of this collection.
Items I ordered from the collection:
Chip and Dip Tray
12-Piece Dinnerware Set
Serving Tray (set of 3)
Serving Bowl
I almost missed a few coordinating pieces, like a handy basket caddy, so check the full collection if you want other matching items.

I purchased three platters because they look lovely grouped on a shelf or displayed on a plate stand on the counter. They’ll be great for styling as well as serving at gatherings.
I’ll experiment with styling ideas now that everything has arrived and will share photos soon, but wanted to mention them in case they sell out quickly.

Quick decorating tips and ideas:
– Arrange platters across a kitchen shelf or display them on a wall for an instant focal point.
– Use plate stands on countertops to highlight a favorite piece or create layered vignettes.
Bonus: these melamine pieces are lightweight and less likely to break if they slip off a shelf.
– Stack bowls on open shelving for a casual, collected look.
– Keep styling simple and affordable by mixing and matching a few functional pieces you love.
My favorite rooms are the ones filled with items I both use and enjoy—dishes can be practical and beautiful at the same time. If you don’t find this exact style, thrift stores and vintage shops are great places to hunt for unique plates, bowls, and platters.

If this collection appeals to you, try to grab the pieces you want while stock lasts. They can be purchased individually or in sets and come in two colors; mine are the blue option. I also shared a short video of these dishes on my LTK profile if you want to see them in use.
I recommend downloading the LTK app.
I add favorite finds there daily. The app makes it easy to browse items I share, watch short videos of products in my home, and shop right from the app. If you want timely alerts for new finds or sales, having the app helps you avoid missing items I post.
