Ihave always been drawn to gardens, especially their entrances. An arbor or gate can transform an outdoor space, creating a welcoming sense of mystery and charm. I’m often tempted to step through—and admittedly, sometimes a little too curious about what lies beyond when I pass one in a neighbor’s yard.
Recently I moved a metal arbor to frame the arched gate in my side patio. The piece added texture and character, and I love the result. I pictured white climbing roses eventually cascading over the structure, but my jasmine didn’t wait—it’s already started to climb and soften the arch.
Gates, arbors, and fences have been on my mind lately. I’m considering a new gate and fence for the front yard, and my daughter Kylee is hunting for ideas for her new house. I gathered some of the inspiration I’ve found and wanted to share a few favorites.

I love how this home decorated their front arbor for fall — simple, seasonal, and welcoming.

A row of arches can create a magical tunnel effect. Picture it lit by soft path lights at night—so atmospheric and inviting.

I might add an arbor above the gate in my side yard someday — it’s a project I’m feeling inspired to try.
Wishing you a lovely weekend and happy gardening.
