Now that the planning for my kitchen remodel is complete and the space is beginning to take shape (next week the drywall and floors will be installed and our cabinets arrive!), I finally have time to think about the pretty accessories I want to use.
I love many kitchen styles, which made choosing a direction for this kitchen challenging. There were so many possibilities I would have been happy with. Over time I’ve learned I enjoy changing a kitchen’s look with the seasons and my own whims, so I wanted a base I can adapt easily.

Decorating the kitchen — with wall art, countertop accessories, crocks, pitchers, trays to corral useful items, a vase with seasonal stems, tea towels, dishes, or items on open shelving — brings me ongoing joy. Small swaps and new accents can refresh the room quickly and inexpensively.
Our kitchen will feature a soft, buttery white palette with organic materials and architectural details. Though it’s not large, the design will feel warm and welcoming and give us plenty of flexibility to layer in both pretty and practical decor.
