I set up an Easter table for fun last week since we’ll be hosting this year. Sometimes I stage the table in advance so I can decide what to use—what to wash, which linens and centerpieces work, and if anything else is needed. Other times I wing it at the last minute and that’s fine too.

I love mixing and matching dishes, patterns and colors. That’s one reason we included glass cabinets, open shelves and little nooks in our renovation. We don’t have a large home or extra storage, so seeing pretty pieces on display and using them often is important to me.

This time we may squeeze three more people around the table, so I’ll tweak the place settings. For bigger gatherings I plan to set up a second table—another reason we wanted the banquette: extra floor space to add a table when family comes.

Last year I staged an Easter table amid construction dust, so I’m grateful to have a proper dining area this year. You make the best of what you have, and it’s so much more fun to set a table in a finished space.
Now we have a cozy dining nook to gather in, and it feels special to make new holiday memories here.
Are you hosting Easter this year?

This book-shaped planter is so charming—perfect as a nontraditional spring accent. It even has a drainage hole if you prefer to plant directly in it.

The ceramic tiered egg is gorgeous and practical—each section opens so you can tuck in small gifts, snacks or candy for a playful centerpiece.
