Hey friends! When I first began writing online nearly a decade ago, I never imagined I would meet such a warm, creative community. It’s a joy to share ideas about house and home with kindred spirits. If you’re new here, please kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, and make yourself comfortable.
Thank you for being part of this little circle, whether you leave a comment (my favorite) or quietly stop by to take a look. I wish we could all meet for coffee or tea and chat in person.
Today let’s talk about decorating. Have you hit a winter slump, or has the arrival of spring inspired you to refresh your space?
If you’re feeling uninspired and don’t want to spend a lot, what can you do?
I use a handful of simple tricks to shake off a slump and bring fresh life to our rooms.
Below are several decorating ideas that might spark something — click through the links to read each post.
- Start by making the most of what you already have: do what you can with what’s on hand.
- If your home feels cluttered with decor, consider a gentle intervention to pare down and keep only what sparks joy.
- If you’re impatient for change, remember that slow decorating often leads to a style you’ll love.
- Create a simple spring flower basket to add instant charm and color to an entry or door.

- Use budget-friendly ideas to refresh your home for spring — small updates can make a big impact.
- Hang something on your walls. Following a few helpful guidelines will make wall arrangements look intentional and balanced.
- Look for ways to transform rooms without spending a fortune — creativity often beats cost.

- Add drama to a small room with color — a rich tone can make a compact space feel curated and cozy.
- Refresh your bedroom on a budget: small changes like bedding, lamps, or art can update the whole look.
- If you’re unsure where to begin a room design, take five simple steps to get started and build your plan gradually.

- Give new life to an old piece with paint or a simple makeover — a transformed nightstand or side table can change the feel of a room.

- Don’t be afraid to change something you don’t love. A fresh coat of paint can turn a dated fireplace, piece of furniture, or accent into something you’ll enjoy.
- Today I’ll be sharing a short devotional about how our homes tell our story and how small acts of creativity can bring beauty into everyday life. I’d love to have you stop by and say hello.
How do you get out of a post-winter spring decorating slump?
When I’m stuck, I try one or two of these quick, low-cost steps: shift or remove a few accessories, swap a throw pillow or rug, add a vase of fresh or faux blooms, or introduce a bold paint accent. Sometimes simply rearranging furniture or changing the lighting makes the space feel new. Other times I edit — removing items that no longer serve the room clears visual clutter and creates room for fresh ideas. The important thing is to start small, enjoy the process, and let your home evolve slowly into a place that feels like you.
