Where to Buy Our Kitchen Faucet and Farmhouse Sink (Remodel Update)

The Inspired Room Kitchen Farmhouse Sink - Better Homes and GardensMy last kitchen in BHG

Happy Friday! The last time you glimpsed my kitchen it was when I shared the arches. Since then I’ve been waiting for a surprise feature—the round window—to be installed. Of course, no project at my house is without a few hiccups, so the window somehow went missing in transit. Luckily it has been located and is scheduled for installation today, though I’m not holding my breath.

At the moment there isn’t anything new to show inside the kitchen—no visible progress—yet behind the scenes decisions have been finalized. Paint colors are chosen, pretty fixtures have been bought, plans and drawings are complete, disasters have been averted, and the window has been found. If the window goes in today, I expect drywall to be finished soon, which will allow the crew to install the ceiling, flooring, cabinets, countertops, backsplash and, of course, the dutch door.

Although there’s not much to show inside the kitchen yet, there are plenty of beautiful things sitting in boxes on the floor. Today I want to share my final choices for the sink and faucet for the new kitchen.

Choosing a faucet turned out to be tougher than I expected. Aside from the backsplash, it was one of the hardest decisions. I knew I wanted a farmhouse sink, but I wrestled with faucet style and finish—modern or traditional, brass or nickel, chrome or a bridge style? To be sure of my choice I ordered several options to see them in person.

In the end I chose a faucet that felt like the best fit for the overall vision of the kitchen and coordinated with the other elements. It has an antique brass finish, a substantial solid feel, and an old-world style, plus a separate sprayer—which we prefer. Best of all, it was significantly less expensive than one of my top alternatives, so it felt like a great deal.

Our new faucet is very similar to the one that was in my old house

We ordered another undermount farmhouse sink like the one we had in our previous home, but this time we went even larger. The kitchen is small and white, but the sink will be a big white centerpiece. Previously we had to fit the sink into an existing cabinet, so this time we had the space to choose a larger model.

Faucet options I considered are shown above; many of them are available in multiple finishes, so consider finish options when choosing.

Some of the faucets pictured I actually ordered to evaluate in person, and others I considered online. I reviewed each for style, finish, scale and how well it would pair with the farmhouse sink and the rest of the kitchen design.

For the apron-front farmhouse sink we selected a Kohler model—the exact sink we ordered is the same as the one pictured below. Earlier I shared a post with additional farmhouse sink inspiration and resources, which helped confirm our choice.

What’s next to share about the kitchen? There are still a lot of details to reveal. If there’s something you’re especially curious about, tell me in the comments and I’ll include it in a future update. All will be revealed in time.
