Weekend Getaway: Stunning Lake House Escape

If I lived here…I would invite you all over for a girls’ weekend lake house party! Girls only.

I can picture it clearly: we’d leave laptops and phones on the far side of the lake and spend a fully unplugged weekend together.

Everyone’s kids would be safe and sound at home with family, so we could relax without interruption.

On that first night we’d sit outside in those inviting chairs, still in our pajamas, talking and laughing late into the evening—swapping stories, sharing ideas and enjoying the calm.

The next morning we’d sleep in, then brew coffee and bake scones. Afterwards we’d take a gentle boat ride around the lake—peaceful and unhurried, just drifting and enjoying the view.

For lunch we’d stop at a charming bistro, then stroll a nearby street of quaint shops and boutiques, browsing leisurely and finding little treasures.

At some point we’d feel a twinge of regret for not being able to post about our day, so we’d ask a friendly passerby to photograph us and send the photo later—problem solved, and we’d go right back to being present.

As dusk settled, we’d return to the house, mix fruity cocktails and slip into the indoor pool for a relaxed nighttime swim—because in my imagination this house includes a pool to enjoy year-round.

The evening would wind down with everyone in cozy yoga pants, snacking on simple treats and watching chick flicks while we continue chatting and laughing.

By the end of the weekend we’d feel closer—new friends and fresh memories. Every time we caught up online afterward, those shared moments at the lake house would come back to us instantly.

I love this little daydream—simple, warm and restorative.
