A tangle of cords on the floor never feels tidy or welcoming. As I continue my quest to give everything in the house a proper place, finding a smart way to hide power strips has been high on my list. I wanted a solution that would conceal cords while still looking attractive in the room—and I finally found some great options.
I ordered two different styles of cable management baskets. The first one I bought is an imitation rattan style. It isn’t my absolute favorite finish up close, but from a distance it blends nicely into a room and does an excellent job of hiding cords and a power strip.
Because that first basket was so useful, I ordered another set for other areas of the house, like the kitchen and the snug.
The newer set arrived in two sizes and has a natural, warm finish that fits beautifully with our decor. They’re practical, attractive, and I’d happily buy them again.

These baskets offer a simple and elegant way to conceal cords and power strips, helping surfaces look neat and uncluttered. They also provide a handy spot to tuck away extra phone chargers so they’re organized and ready for guests.
Because the baskets are ventilated, they help reduce the risk of overheating for power strips and chargers. It’s important not to place power strips in completely closed or tightly confined spaces without ventilation, and avoid overloading them—don’t use power strips for high-draw appliances like space heaters.
In our home we’re using these baskets for charging phones (we set the phones on top with the cord exiting through the side) and for hiding a lamp cord on the kitchen counter. They keep things tidy while still allowing easy access.
Before you buy, measure the power strip you plan to use to make sure it fits comfortably inside the basket. We chose a compact surge protector that fits well in ours.
These power strip baskets are an easy, effective way to contain cords and keep a room looking calm and organized. I’m really pleased with how they simplify everyday life and improve the look of our spaces.
Here’s to simple, pretty solutions that make a home feel more peaceful.
