Spring Entryway Styling + A Short Story About a Light Switch

Entry Sources

Can you believe it’s finally April?

This week a bright shaft of sunlight streamed into our small entryway. After a long winter I almost forget the joy of a room filled with warm light. Seeing it peek in was a surprise and it lifted my spirits.

I don’t mind winter here, but the idea of stepping outside in just a sweater instead of a coat and hat sounds wonderful.

I just noticed my mirror is crooked—real life! Behind that mirror is an awkwardly placed light switch, practically in the middle of the wall. To reach the porch light we have to swing the mirror aside and slide our hand behind it. Sometimes we remember to straighten it afterward; often we don’t.

During our renovation I asked about moving the switch, but was told it wasn’t feasible or would be difficult. So for now the mirror stays, hiding the switch and creating the occasional tilted reflection.

Does anyone else have a poorly placed light switch that makes you invent creative solutions?

Wishing you a blessed Easter!
