Don’t worry, be happy. This week I ordered a cheerful little sponge with a smiling face, and it’s been a tiny delight during routine chores. I find myself humming that “Don’t Worry” tune while doing dishes and wiping down the sink. The sponge makes me smile, and the reminder not to worry too much feels helpful—especially now, when focusing on what we can do is more useful than dwelling on what we can’t.
Worry rarely helps. Protecting our households in practical ways and finding small moments of joy in daily routines are far better for our well-being than hanging on to anxiety. A smiling sponge won’t change big problems, but it lightens the mood and brings a little levity to everyday tasks. That’s meaningful.
Along with the sponge, I ordered automatic soap dispensers for the kitchen and bathrooms. Frequent handwashing is one of the best simple things we can do, and touch-free dispensers reduce how often we need to touch shared surfaces. I refill them with a custom-scented, toxin-free foaming soap I prefer rather than the soap that came with the dispensers.
Recommended cleaning products:
I use Thieves Household Cleaner Concentrate for many cleaning tasks around the house. It’s economical and effective—you only need a small amount per spray bottle of water, which makes it an affordable option for regular use. I also use the Thieves cleaning scrub for tougher messes. These products have become staples for keeping my home clean and feeling fresh.
Note: Be cautious buying certain brands through third-party marketplaces; availability and authenticity can vary, so purchase from trustworthy sources.
If you like having small, cheerful items around the house, the smiling sponge is an easy way to add a little joy to daily chores.
Y’all are in my thoughts and prayers. Let’s stick together. We’ll get through this.
