Jack popped in to say hello and show how much he’s grown. At nearly 50 pounds, he’s turning into a big, lovable presence in the house.
He’s learning manners and good puppy behavior, and he’s making steady progress.
He understands right from wrong, but when faced with irresistible temptations he still gives in. Everyday items are a constant challenge: toilet paper, toothbrushes, socks, Winston’s food and water, napkins, the remote and game controllers, slippers, shoes, hats, and pens. Sharpies are a particular favorite—red ones especially.
Mostly, Jack just wants to have fun. When his family seems bored, he invents ways to entertain us.
Lately he’s been making hilarious sounds that almost sound like he’s trying to talk. We’ll have to capture those noises on video soon.
Jack likes to act like the alpha dog—the leader of the pack—although I remind him that I’m the alpha mom, which he strongly dislikes.
To reinforce rules and help him understand his place in the family, he’s starting puppy school next month. That should be entertaining; I imagine the smaller puppies will be surprised to meet someone Jack’s size.
Before puppy school begins, Jack wants his first big-boy haircut. He’s excited for the change, and we’re looking forward to seeing his new look.
That’s all for now—more updates to come as Jack grows and learns.
