My Son’s Bedroom Reveal + Win a 5-Gallon Paint Giveaway

Blue Teen Boys Bedroom - The Inspired Room

My teenage son’s bedroom

We’ve spent this summer tackling small projects all around the house, and it’s been gratifying to see progress in so many places. Between family time and a vacation, we still managed to refresh several rooms, which makes the house feel more comfortable and ready for the cooler months. One project that’s near completion is my teenage son’s bedroom—although the kitchen is still waiting to get started.

We’ve been repainting rooms throughout the interior, and fresh paint makes a big difference. The walls in my son’s room have heavy textured plaster, so I was a little apprehensive about how paint would perform on that surface. Fortunately the color and finish went on well and look just right. We chose Night Sky Grey by Glidden for this space.

Glidden Diamond Paint and Primer

In our previous home we used Glidden Duo paint and primer, and the newer line—Glidden Diamond—has replaced that formula. Glidden Diamond combines paint and primer in one acrylic formula that’s affordable and easy to apply. It often covers well in a single coat, though we typically use two coats for best results. The product is low-odor and no-VOC, which made painting indoors much more pleasant.

One of the best features of this paint is its durability: it’s formulated to be washable and can stand up to scrubbing. That makes it an excellent choice for kids’ rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and other high-traffic areas where walls need to be cleaned more frequently.

If you’re thinking of freshening up your home this season, I wanted to share that Glidden gave readers a chance to win five gallons of Diamond paint for a home improvement project.
