Merry Christmas Wishes: Joyful Greetings and Holiday Cheer

Jack the Goldendoodle and Lily the Labradoodle - The Inspired Room

Merry Christmas, from our house to yours!

This week I’ve been focused on finishing my Christmas to-do list, but mostly I’ve been enjoying puttering around the house — my favorite way to spend time. I picked up a new dresser last week and finally organized my closet for the first time since we moved in. I’ll share more room updates and progress on the rest of the house after the holidays. It feels wonderful to get organized and settle things in place.

Jack is dreaming of a white Christmas — I wouldn’t mind that either. It’s unlikely, but just in case a flake or two falls, I’ve been wrapping up errands so I can stay home and sit by the fire the rest of the week. We’ll have family visiting on Christmas Day, so the house will be full of guests. I’m looking forward to it!

Yesterday I stopped by Costco to stock up on essentials, and to my surprise I found The Inspired Room on their book table. It was so exciting to see it there! If you’re in the Seattle area, check your local Costco — the price is great. I’m hoping that if more people buy it, Costco will stock the book in additional stores.

I also spotted the book at Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, and the Seattle Amazon retail store, where it was featured on their “highly rated” table. It felt surreal and wonderful to find it in so many places.

Jack and Lily

These two pups look cute and fluffy, but don’t be fooled — Jack and Lily are mischievous. It wouldn’t be Christmas in our house without the annual unraveling of the tree. Every year I tell myself I can trust them around the decorations, and every year, when I’m not looking, they act like puppies and remove the animal ornaments before we even get to the holiday. Their antics keep things lively, but I do wish they’d leave the ornaments alone!

I’d love to see your home at Christmas. If you have a few moments over the next few days, please consider uploading a photo or two to Home Love Stories — I always enjoy seeing festive homes and holiday details from readers.

Michaels Family

This year has been full of surprises, house projects, and meaningful changes for our family. I’m excited to recap the year and share my house goals and dreams for 2016. There’s a lot I’m planning for the home and the blog, but for now I’m going to finish wrapping gifts and enjoy the holiday bustle.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
