Love Your Home Challenge: Week 4 Spring 2016

The Love Your Home Challenge - based on the NY Times Best Seller Love the Home You Have - The Inspired Room

Welcome to week four of the Spring 2016 Love Your Home Challenge. It’s been inspiring to see so many people join in on the daily tasks. A small, consistent nudge can help you make real progress, and teaming up with others makes the process more enjoyable. We still have a little over a week left, and it’s never too late to start — jump in where we are, go back to a previous day that calls to you, or adapt any exercise to suit what you most want to focus on. Keep a gratitude journal handy to capture ideas, observations, and small wins as they come.

Enjoy!Week Four

Day 22 – Twenty Little Things: Today, write a list of 20 small things you love about this season of life in your home. Display the list where you’ll see it or tuck it into your home notebook. Add to it during the day when another little pleasure comes to mind. Aim for twenty — you might be surprised at how many joyful details you notice when you look intentionally.

Day 23 – Happy Surprises: Brighten your day by lining the dresser or desk drawer you use most with spring-inspired scrapbook or pretty wrapping paper. It’s a simple touch that makes opening the drawer feel like a small delight every time.

Day 24 – Your Handbag: The condition of your purse often affects how smoothly your day goes. Spend a few minutes spring-cleaning your handbag: remove wrappers and unnecessary items, organize makeup and receipts, and add a small pocket notebook for quick notes or ideas.

Day 25 – Living Room Wish List: Consider how you feel in your living room. Start a wish list for the space: what basics do you already have, and what could you add or refresh this spring to make it more comfortable and welcoming? Add these ideas to your home notebook so you can prioritize and track them.

Day 26 – Make It Happen: Choose one project in your home that you can finish today or at least make significant progress on. Completing a single task gives a satisfying sense of accomplishment and helps clear mental clutter so you can focus on the next thing.

Day 27 – Order in the Kitchen: Focus on pantry organization today. Discard expired items, repackage bulk goods into clear containers, label them, and wipe down shelves. A tidy, organized pantry not only looks better but also makes meal prep easier and less stressful.

Day 28 – Your Color Personality: Think about the colors that make you happiest. Consider ways to bring more of those hues into your home — paint a piece of furniture, swap throw pillows, or collect dishes in your favorite shade. Surrounding yourself with colors you love can lift your mood and change how you feel in your space.
