Hello friends! Happy Saturday — I’m so excited to share the best news I’ve had in a long time: the round window is installed and it looks wonderful. Please excuse the rough photos; the area is still a real mess and there’s plenty of trim and painting left to make everything feel finished. Cross panes will be added to the window in about a week.
If you squint, you can already see how it will all come together. We did a quick faucet demo so you can see the new brass faucet beneath the window. The faucet will sit a bit lower than shown and will be centered under the window. I think the round window, paired with the farmhouse sink and brass faucet, will create a charming focal point.
The window came through our contractor from a local dealer; I believe it’s the same Milgard brand as our other windows.

It was a dreary, early-evening sky while we took these photos, but I can already tell I’m going to love being in this kitchen. It will feel light and bright, and I look forward to seeing the side yard through that round window. I’m already picturing flags, hanging baskets, and other little details out there to make the view pleasant.

For clarity, our new refrigerator won’t be positioned right against the arched doorway like it appears in these photos.

As for the side patio progress, it’s still a work in progress, as is the downstairs and the office. There’s a long story behind each area, but I’m determined to get it all finished. I’m optimistic the side patio will be done by spring — that was my goal last year too, so fingers crossed. Once the round window is trimmed and painted we’ll install the new Dutch door and complete the surrounding elements. I think it will end up looking very cute.
Thanks for following along and sharing my excitement about the kitchen project. I really enjoy sharing these updates with you.
Happy Saturday!
