Irresistible Holiday Ornaments to Elevate Your Decor

Oh, I couldn’t resist — more beautiful finds from Country Living! That magazine has me swooning twice this week. After seeing these photos, I felt inspired to turn vintage items into ornaments. I know, I’m pretending I have endless time during the holidays — and ignoring the fact that I’m moving — but for today I’ll daydream about making ornaments from old treasures.

Authentic vintage pieces can be pricey if you don’t already own them. But you can capture that vintage charm by creating vintage-inspired ornaments that are affordable and full of character.

I’m not particularly crafty, yet I love clever ideas more than predictable ones. They’re simply more fun. I have a stack of old Christmas cards I’ve been keeping; cutting them into shapes and adding ribbon would make quick, charming ornaments. Old letters or ephemera would work beautifully too — stencils, a little twine, and you have instant nostalgia.

I loved reading all 338 comments — your scent combinations were so creative. One memorable suggestion came from Jessica, who said she enjoys baby powder and mint together. I had to try it in my fragrance warmer, and it’s a surprisingly delightful pairing. That’s one of the best things about Urban Botanic: experimenting with fragrances to create a mood or evoke a memory.

Reading the comments made me wish I could give everyone a prize, so Urban Botanic and I decided to offer a small gift to every Inspired Room reader. Visit www.urbanbotanic.com/inspired (the “inspired” portion helps us identify entries from this giveaway) and take the scent personality test. After we receive your completed test, we’ll send you a $5 gift certificate to use on any item. Happy holidays and thank you for all the thoughtful entries!
