In case you missed my earlier announcement, the Holiday Home Tours on The Inspired Room now have a confirmed start date. This year I’m doing things a little differently: I’ve teamed up with the lovely hosts pictured above to bring you fresh, themed holiday tours and link-ups.

Each host will present a unique holiday theme for you to enjoy and join. I love the variety of topics and the inspiration they’ll spark. Partnering with other bloggers is one of my favorite parts of this event because it introduces you to creative people you might not know yet. I’m honored to be part of this group. For updates about other parties and links to additional hosts as they go live, check the Cottage Magpie announcement when it’s posted.

The Holiday Home Tour begins on December 15th here at The Inspired Room. On that day you’ll come to The Inspired Room to link up your post and visit the other holiday homes in the tour. If you’ve never joined a linky party before, don’t worry—I’ll provide guidance when the time comes. With the 15th approaching quickly, it’s time to start preparing our homes, decks, and front porches so we can welcome visitors and show off our festive decorating. No pressure—just holiday fun.

I should admit I haven’t fully decorated yet beyond my Woodland Tree and Nativity scene. To complicate things, I’ll be out of town for a few days right before the tour, which will squeeze my schedule and make things feel hectic. But Christmas will happen here—I’ll pull it together and find a way to welcome you in.

Thank you for spreading the word about the parties and for planning to link up and visit other homes. I appreciate the enthusiasm and can’t wait to see your ideas.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: How does Christmas sneak up on us so fast?

Even when I start early, like I did with my tree, it somehow flies by and I feel behind. Maybe I take a break after the first push and lose track of time. Maybe I’m naturally slow, or I get distracted, or there’s no one around to crawl under the house and fetch the boxes of decorations.

Rather than overthinking it, I should get off the computer, put on some Christmas music, and get to decorating. Inviting people over always motivates me to tidy up and finish projects. I’ve got a few fun ideas brewing, so I’m excited to find my holiday groove again. Off I go!
