Thanks to everyone who stopped by on Saturday to see my kitchen progress. The remodel is moving along—drywall even made some forward progress this weekend—so I’m feeling hopeful that I’ll have more updates and pretty photos to share soon. Despite the dust and disruption, I’m trying to enjoy the season and look forward to Christmas decorating.
As I’ve mentioned before, we expect to have a new front door by Christmas. If it arrives even a little earlier, that would be wonderful. The new door will come pre-painted, which means it’ll be ready for a wreath the moment it’s installed. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high, since remodel timelines can shift, but it’s exciting to imagine a finished entryway for the holidays.
Even if your door isn’t a showpiece, simple greenery and thoughtful accents can transform any entry. A wreath, a swath of garland, or a pair of potted evergreens can make an ordinary front door feel festive and welcoming. Below are photos that showcase a range of approachable ideas—classic, rustic, and DIY—that can inspire holiday front-door decorating for any home.

I’m clearly excited about a new door, but if it doesn’t arrive before the holidays I’ll happily decorate the one I have. Creating a welcoming front entry is one of the most fun parts of holiday decorating—simple touches like lights, wreaths, garlands, and planters can make a big difference. We’ve even put up icicle lights already, and that small step has me eager to do more.
