Hello — I’m Michaela from Michaela Noelle Designs. I’m excited to share a simple, stylish DIY for plant place cards that work perfectly for gatherings, showers, family dinners, or casual get-togethers. These petite pots add charm to your table and double as take-home favors for guests.
What you’ll need:
Mini terra cotta pots, small potted plants, paint and brush, place cards, pen, and tape or glue.

Step 1: Paint the rims or patterns on the terra cotta pots. I used a soft blush pink for a subtle, elegant look, but you can choose colors to match your table theme.

Step 2: Choose place cards and write each guest’s name. Secure the card to a wooden stick or a thick toothpick using tape or glue so it can be inserted into the pot.

Step 3: Pot your mini plants, firm the soil, and place the name sticks into the dirt so the card sits upright. Succulents or small flowering plants work well for this.

Step 4: Arrange your table with a few key pieces — fresh flowers, coordinating plates, goblets, napkins, and a few soft pillows for a relaxed vibe. For this gathering we served fresh berries, homemade bread and jam for a light afternoon spread.

If you want to offer favors, tell guests they’re welcome to take their planted place card home. A small potted plant makes a cheerful and memorable token.
Suggested items to recreate this look (sources noted for convenience):
- Melamine or ceramic plates in coordinating colors
- Gold or warm-toned flatware for a festive touch
