I know it may still feel like summer—and if you’re savoring every warm day, I don’t blame you. We’ve had an amazing stretch of summer weather where I am, and I’m in no hurry to let it go. With school not starting until September, there’s plenty of sunshine left.

That said, I’m a fall lover and I usually start talking about autumn in September. In fact, I’ve hosted a Fall Nesting series and party in some form every year since 2008. It’s become a beloved tradition, and several of you have already asked if I’m doing Fall Nesting again this year. The answer is yes!

Yes—this Fall Nesting Series & Party has run since 2008. That means I’ve been inviting readers to celebrate the season with me for years. If my math is right (and math isn’t my strong suit), this October marks my…

MY FIFTH ANNUAL

FALL NESTING SERIES AND PARTY

I can hardly believe it either. Five years feels like a milestone, but talking about fall never gets old. Each year brings new ideas and fresh ways to nest, even though some of the things that make autumn wonderful remain the same.

If you want a little inspiration now, you can revisit my Autumn Manifesto from last year to see why I love this season. Fall can be a state of mind as much as a season, and these thoughts help set the mood wherever you are.

Also, I’ve shared a post on new fall color combinations for the year if you’re thinking about fresh palettes for your home.

Consider this your personal pre-invitation to join me this October for the Fifth Annual Fall Nesting Party.

Why the early invite in mid-August? I want to give you plenty of time to plan how you might participate. In October we’ll open link-ups where you can share your own Fall Nesting posts—just as we’ve done for years. This community is full of fall lovers who enjoy sharing tips on decorating, organizing, and preparing for the holidays.

In September I’ll focus on getting organized and ready for the season so that in October we can dive into full Fall Nesting mode with plenty of inspiring posts and link parties. You’re welcome to join in however you like.

This year, to make it easier and more fun to participate, there will be a new linky party every single week of October. You can join one week, all the weeks, or simply visit to enjoy the inspiration. If you’d like to run your own Fall Nesting series in October, you can link up to the parties too—I encourage it and many of you have done that in past years.

During October I’ll write a lot about Fall Nesting—probably not every single day, but frequently—and each week I’ll open a linky party where you can share posts that match the week’s loose theme. Here’s the plan for the weekly prompts:

Fall Nesting Parties @ The Inspired Room (every Tuesday in October)

Week One:
Get Your Fall Nesting On — Share 20 Little Things You Love About Fall or similar lists celebrating favorite autumn details.

Week Two:
Fall around the House — Show how you’re nesting at home for fall, from simple vignettes to larger changes.

Week Three:
Decorating Fall Mantels & Porches — Feature your seasonal mantels, porches, and entryway ideas.

Week Four:
Inspired Holiday Nesting — Share Halloween, Thanksgiving, or early holiday decorating and entertaining ideas.

Week Five:
Fall Project Round Up — Pick your favorite project from October and link it up for others to enjoy.

In short: it’s all about Fall. All month long we’ll celebrate autumn in whatever form it takes where you live.

I’ll remind you of themes and dates as October approaches. For now, save the idea and start planning how you might join the celebration. I’m also planning a few extra fall-themed surprises to make this one of our best Fall Nesting parties yet.

Will you join me for the 5th Annual Fall Nesting Series & Party? It’s a tradition around here.
