Discover Your Decorating Style: New Inspiration Gallery

Do you want encouragement and inspiration to discover your own authentic decorating style? You don’t need a big budget, someone else’s exact look, or a perfect home to start creating a beautiful space that feels uniquely yours. Small, thoughtful changes can make a big difference right now.

I started The Inspired Room in 2007 because I believe everyone deserves a lovely home. Homes should reflect the people who live in them, so copying someone else’s idea of beauty can leave you frustrated. What looks great for one person may not fit your home, budget, or lifestyle. Magazine spreads and curated blogs can feel discouraging when you don’t have the same house, time, money, or staging. That doesn’t mean you can’t create a home you love.

We’re all at different stages in our homemaking journey, but when we embrace where we are right now, we open ourselves to finding inspiration everywhere and applying it to our own lives and spaces.

Contentment with your current situation, combined with a desire to make your space feel like HOME despite imperfections, is where an authentic style begins.

Set aside the excuses—my home is too small, I’m renting, I don’t have the right furniture, I’m moving soon, or I don’t have the budget—and let your life guide your decorating choices. When you allow your life to inspire your home, your home will inspire you in return. You’ll feel more content within your own walls and may even fall in love with the home you have, whether it’s temporary or permanent.

For over five years I’ve written about finding a personal and livable style. I share ideas and encouragement to help women embrace the homes they have and develop a style that feels authentic and personal.

To make that process easier, I’ve assembled a new gallery of “Decorating Style Tips” posts from The Inspired Room archives. This gallery brings together helpful posts in one place so it’s simpler to find practical ideas and inspiration.

These posts offer doable ideas, easy decorating tips, and a fresh perspective on making your home meaningful. The goal is to help you see possibilities and take small steps that add up. You can do this.

I’ll keep adding new and older posts, so the gallery will continue to grow and evolve with fresh inspiration.
You can also explore other decorating galleries, like the homemaking & organization tips gallery and seasonal decorating galleries, via links in the sidebar.

Enjoy!
