Coastal Cottage Video Tour: 2013 Blog Cabin Walkthrough

The Inspired Room features videos in partnership with Scripps Network. The tour will play after a brief commercial. (I’m working on preventing autoplay, but you can mute the video if needed.)

For a house lover like me, snooping through well‑designed homes is a delightful hobby. I don’t watch much TV, but I do enjoy home makeover and renovation shows when I can, so I like sharing videos on the blog that I personally enjoy watching.

Have you seen the DIY Network series Blog Cabin? Above is a short preview of this year’s renovated house. The project transformed a cedar‑shake, tongue‑and‑groove coastal cottage originally built in the 1800s. There are also room‑by‑room videos (links below).

Fun note: if you act quickly you may still be able to enter to win the house (sweepstakes had an early deadline, so check availability).

From the show’s description: the Blog Cabin 2013 Giveaway grand prize included a fully renovated, circa‑1800s coastal cottage on North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. The furnished home featured two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and about 2,600 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space, with a total package value near $500,000.

Even if you missed the sweepstakes, the videos are inspiring to watch. Today’s post includes a 90‑second preview, and you can view detailed room tours through the video links below. Grab a snack and enjoy the house tour!
