Last year I picked up this charming book nook kit as a Christmas present for my husband. I bought it before our grandbabies were born, but I’m always imagining playful ways to decorate for them — and I personally adore whimsical decor. Real book nooks are delightful in person, too.

Now we have a book nook inside our home’s book nook. I haven’t chosen the permanent spot yet or which shelf it will live on, and we may even move it between rooms. For the moment it’s on the snug shelves where we can enjoy it until the grandchildren are old enough to appreciate all the tiny details.

There are so many small, delightful features tucked inside the scene that a single photograph can’t capture them all.
When the grands are a bit older, we’ll place it within reach so they can peer in and explore the miniature world.

Assembling the kit took some time and patience, but the finished result was absolutely worth the effort.
