We recently replaced the main floor window coverings with new bamboo shades. They make a subtle but noticeable difference in our kitchen and living spaces — you may have spotted them in our kitchen reveal or the Christmas mantel photos. I was happy to find options that were both affordable and in stock, allowing us to finish this update before the holidays.
Although we liked our previous blinds, they were showing wear and we wanted cordless shades for safety, so we decided to replace all of them at once.

Adding bamboo shades was always part of the plan after completing the kitchen renovation. The shades aren’t strictly necessary for privacy in every room, but I love the warmth and texture they bring. Over the past year I collected samples and saved images of styles I liked, but waited to make a final decision until the renovation was finished.
The kitchen renovation took longer and cost more than expected, so when it came time to add shades we had to balance budget and timing. We found bamboo shades that fit our windows, were available quickly, and were easy to install. They come in several color options, which made choosing the right tone simple.
You can find the bamboo shades we ordered in the russet color.

We still plan to add a few more shades in other rooms over time, but it feels great to check this off the main floor to-do list. The cordless feature brings peace of mind, and the layered, organic look of bamboo complements our coastal-cottage style.
