A Adirondack chairs and summer just go together. I have one chair in my yard now — we used to have another, but the wood eventually rotted after years of Seattle winters. Still, I’ve always pictured a pair on a front porch or a circle of them surrounding a fire pit.
We don’t have a large porch at this house, and there’s no fire pit yet, but I like to imagine the possibilities. I recently picked up two Adirondack chairs on sale to bring that relaxed, classic look to my yard. For now they’ll sit beside the backyard shed, but I’m already dreaming about future improvements.
Eventually I want to create a dedicated fire pit area like we had at our old house. I’ll share more backyard plans in a later post, but my vision includes a flagstone patio around the shed, a pea-gravel pathway leading from the deck to the shed, and garden boxes lining the path. Of course, I see the fire pit with a ring of Adirondack chairs nearby — a cozy spot for evenings and gatherings.
Yes, I dream big. But for now, two chairs by the shed are a lovely start.
