Just stopping by to share something I’m really excited about: The Bloom Workshop. Created and hosted by Michaela and Ashley, The Bloom Workshop brings hands-on creative education to beautiful venues across the country. These events focus on practical skills—blogging, social media, photography, styling and interior design—presented in ways that help creative entrepreneurs move their blogs or businesses forward.

The Bloom Workshop lineup includes sessions that explain the how and why of blogging, social media best practices, styling and photography. Attendees get a mix of classroom-style teaching, a styled photo shoot to practice newly learned skills, and Q&A sessions with panels of experienced professionals. The format is intended to be useful for makers, designers, bloggers and creative business owners at any stage.

The workshop that I’m particularly excited about is a new two-day event called Bloom Bash. This expanded format offers deeper instruction and more hands-on time. I’ll be joining Bloom Bash in Seattle as keynote speaker and lead several sessions on styling, blogging and social media. The Seattle event also includes a cocktail party and book signing on the first evening that will be open to the public. Bloom Bash is scheduled for October 8–9, 2015.

What to expect at Bloom Bash

Bloom Bash is designed to build community among creative entrepreneurs, bloggers and artists while giving attendees tools and strategies they can apply immediately. Over two days you’ll find in-depth sessions on blogging strategy, social media, photography, styling, design and floral styling. The retreat features a talented team of speakers, local partnerships and beautifully styled shoots so you can practice techniques and leave with fresh inspiration and skills. Attendees typically gain practical tips, new creative connections, and renewed enthusiasm for their work.

When I began blogging years ago there were far fewer resources available for creative business owners. Workshops like these fill that gap by offering focused education and the chance to network with peers and mentors. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow an existing brand, attending a workshop can accelerate your learning curve. Typical highlights include practical sessions, a professionally styled photo shoot, networking opportunities, an impressive swag bag and a personal headshot session by a professional photographer—an item that alone often costs several hundred dollars.

Bloom Workshop Discount

For a limited time there are special discounts on workshop tickets. Promotions sometimes include percentage discounts on regular tickets and additional savings for two-person bundles. The Bloom Workshop also offers a variety of event types and sizes, including shorter La Petite Bloom sessions for those seeking a condensed experience. These options make it easy to find an event that fits your schedule and goals.

Attending a workshop is a productive way to invest in your business: you’ll gain actionable advice, make meaningful connections with other creatives, and come away with assets and knowledge to support your next steps. If you’re considering professional development in blogging, styling, photography or social media, this kind of immersive retreat can be particularly effective.
