I’m thrilled to have had new hickory hardwood floors installed by Mohawk this year. We removed old stained carpet and damaged flooring during our remodel, and the new wood truly transformed the rooms. The change has influenced how I furnish and decorate the space — and it feels great after years of postponing renovations.
My final kitchen, family room and entry floor reveal posts will be published soon. Right now the rooms are protected with tape and paper while the painter finishes up, and I’ve been strictly instructed to stay out so the work isn’t disturbed. That means no full reveals just yet, but they’re coming.

Along with aesthetic choices, consider practical factors such as your household’s lifestyle, budget, and whether the new flooring should harmonize with existing trim, cabinetry or adjacent floors. These considerations help narrow the options and lead to a confident selection.
