Spring Flower Door Basket Ideas for a Fresh Front Porch

Spring Flower Door Basket: Easy DIY

I love hanging baskets on my door to showcase seasonal flowers. It’s a simple way to bring color and life to the entryway—grab a spring bouquet, some cut branches, or a few plant clippings from the yard and tuck them into a basket. Our basket hangs from a ribbon secured between the two sections of the Dutch door. We’ve used a similar spring door basket at our previous house, and it’s an easy, repeatable idea.

Simple projects are my favorite. They feel effortless and make an immediate impact.

Many stores and online shops carry hanging door baskets in a variety of styles. Choose a simple woven basket for a cottage look, a metal frame for something more modern, or a painted container to match your door. The idea is flexible: use what you already have, or pick a piece that complements your entry’s character.

To create your own: select a basket with a flat back or one that can sit flush against the door. Line it with floral foam, a small vase, or a waterproof liner if you plan to use fresh-cut stems. Arrange a mix of flowers and greenery for texture—think tulips or daffodils for spring, paired with soft filler greens. Secure the basket with a ribbon, hook, or over-the-door hanger, making sure it’s stable and won’t strain the door hardware.

Find similar hanging door baskets by browsing seasonal decor collections or garden sections at local shops and online marketplaces. Many retailers offer styles that are easy to adapt for fresh blooms.

Happy Easter, friends!
