Spring has arrived, and I felt the urge to refresh the house. A bit of spring cleaning and small, joyful changes make the season feel special and welcome.

On the first day of spring my daughter and grandson came over and we spent the day puttering together. It began as a gray, rainy afternoon, but midway through our projects the clouds broke and sunlight poured through the windows. That sudden sunshine felt like spring arriving right before our eyes—it lifted our spirits instantly.

I find so many of my favorite timeless pieces at Wayfair. Their selection makes it easy to blend everyday classics with seasonal touches that make the home feel fresh and welcoming—especially when little ones are around.

A Simple Floral Idea for the Season

One of my favorite traditions is changing what I display in my rattan planter. Over the past year I’ve styled it in many ways; this spring we filled it with fresh flowers.

We picked garden roses and a few other blooms at the grocery store and arranged them ourselves. To make it simple we tucked a few drinking glasses inside the planter, trimmed the stems, and arranged the flowers—an easy, charming centerpiece idea for spring gatherings or an Easter table.

The arrangement felt so charming; it’s a simple way to add seasonal beauty to any room.

A Few Easter Touches

We filled small bowls with early Easter candy—of course we had to taste-test to make sure everything was ready for guests. These little bowls work beautifully for candies, plants, seashells, and more.

A blue-and-white basket-style bowl felt like a classic Easter basket, so I filled it with colorful sweets, while a footed bowl held my favorite treats—chocolate peanut butter cups.

I brought out my floral bunny decoration that had been tucked away since last spring. I admit I have a soft spot for bunnies—maybe one day I’ll do a full bunny tour of the house.

This season’s green-and-white bunny dishes are a favorite find. Each piece features a different bunny design, which makes them feel extra special. I’ve displayed a few on plate stands in the dish rack—they’re lovely for everyday use and for styling during gatherings.

We even sipped lattes from the bunny mugs while we puttered. They have a cozy shape and a ruffled bottom that feels special—perfect for reaching for every morning this spring.

The matching plates and bowls are just as sweet. Scalloped plate edges and footed scalloped bowls add delicate detail that I love.

Little Spring Shifts Around the Kitchen

I’ve made a few small changes in the kitchen to welcome spring. Moving pieces around is an easy way to refresh the space.

I brought a cobalt blue scalloped lamp back into the kitchen from another room. It’s one of those versatile pieces that seems to work everywhere.

I swapped café curtains for a striped pair I’ve used in past seasons. It’s a small change, but it brightens the room and gives the kitchen a fresh feel.

Cute striped crocks have been in constant use for utensils and flowers; they come in several colors and add a cheerful touch.

On the counter our drip coffee maker rests on a botanical cork placemat that’s heat resistant—handy to use under the toaster as well.

My blue stove, affectionately named Beatrix, is ready for spring baking. Lemon bars are at the top of my list—what do you like to bake this time of year?

Bringing in Spring Color

A floral rug is back in the dining room and, while I enjoy neutrals year-round, brighter patterns after a long winter bring the house to life and make me so happy.

I’ve added small pops of green throughout the house—cabbage platters, green-and-white dishes in the rack, and a mix of vessels used as crocks and vases. Even subtle touches can shift the mood of a room.

A bunny pitcher looks beautiful even empty, but filled with flowers it becomes an instant spring focal point.

I still love my sink-side setup: a red-and-white porcelain tray, a botanical pitcher, and a crock to hold hand soap and dish brushes. It keeps counters tidy while adding a pretty, practical touch to the kitchen.

Happy Spring!
