Why I Embrace Being a Homebody: Finding Joy at Home

Have you been called a homebody? Here's my definition (and spoiler alert, it's a compliment!)

I am a homebody. Perhaps you are one, too. In my book Dwelling I describe what I mean by the term: a homebody is someone who appreciates the simple pleasures and activities centered around home life. It’s not about isolation or hiding away. Being a homebody is about finding completeness and comfort in the everyday rituals and routines that happen where we live.

Why being called a homebody is a compliment!
Quote from my book Dwelling

As an introvert and a creative, I love my home. It’s where I refill my cup—both literally and figuratively. Small rituals, like a quiet morning coffee, set the tone for my day and nourish my spirit.

Our physical surroundings strongly influence our emotional and physical well-being. A calm, welcoming home supports rest, creativity, and a sense of balance.

That connection is why I embraced the word “homebody” for my life and my brand. To me, being a homebody celebrates how deeply our sense of well-being is tied to the feeling and function of our homes.
