Happy Easter, friend! I wanted to share a few favorite recipes we love to make for holidays and gatherings, including some we’ll be preparing this weekend. We try to eat healthily most of the time, but we also enjoy making special treats as part of our traditions. If you follow a dairy-free or gluten-free diet, these recipes work well for us after some simple adaptations, and they still taste fantastic.
A couple of Easters ago we made a Maple-Sweetened Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp that’s naturally gluten-free and vegan. We served it with vanilla bean coconut milk ice cream — it was unbelievably good and quickly became a new favorite. We’ll be making it again this weekend, and honestly I could eat it every day if that were practical.

Courtney enjoys making beautiful pies for special occasions. We use a versatile pie crust recipe that works well when adapted to gluten-free—simply swap in a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. While apple pie is a favorite, last Easter she made a mixed berry pie and it was delicious.

- The adorable Easter egg and bunny pie crust cutters are a fun touch for seasonal baking.
- I gave Courtney a pretty white ruffled pie dish that she loves using for special pies.
You can see more of our Easter pie and family photos from past years for inspiration. There are also a few themed pies—like woodland and fall-leaves designs—that are lovely for holidays and celebrations.

Dutch babies have been a brunch staple in our house for years. We make them for holidays and special mornings, usually serving with a fresh lemon wedge and a dusting of powdered sugar. Berries or baked apples with cinnamon are also delicious toppings.

Our gluten-free vegan chocolate chip cookies are hands down the best cookies I’ve baked. We’ve made them dozens of times and they don’t taste like a typical gluten-free cookie. If you don’t need gluten-free, regular flour works fine too.

Banana bread has been a reliable, comforting bake since my kids were little. I was unsure how it would turn out with gluten-free flour, but it’s just as delicious. We like to add chocolate chips and walnuts for extra flavor and texture.
