For more than a year I thought about adding cafe curtains to my windows, and I finally decided to try them. It turned out to be an easy change—just a pressure rod, a cafe curtain panel, and a few curtain rings. No big commitment, no drama—just a small, affordable update that made a big difference to me.
I loved the window as it was, so I didn’t rush into it. Still, something kept nudging me to give curtains a try. The panel set I chose was affordable and simple to install, and if I ever change my mind it will be just as easy to remove. Now that I’m enjoying the look, I’m even considering adding similar curtains to the dining room.
Decorating should be fun.
Our homes should reflect the things we love. I shared recently with my HomeBody Gathering Place community that it’s often worth listening to what your heart wants when it comes to your space. You don’t have to follow every impulse, but there’s usually a reason you’re drawn to certain ideas. Exploring those reasons can lead to solutions that feel meaningful without being risky.
If a change is low-risk and easy to undo, why not try it? Consider the worst-case scenario—if you can live with that outcome, it may be worth experimenting. Alternatively, look for a similar option that gives you the feeling you want without a big commitment.
Some decorating choices deserve more caution, and others are perfect for testing and play. Knowing the difference helps you move forward with confidence.
Your home should tell your story. Letting your heart guide some decisions helps you decorate with the pieces that truly resonate.
